HOKUALA, Kaua'i - The University of San Francisco (USF) men's golf team began its spring schedule in a scenic setting this weekend as the Dons competed in the 49^th John A. Burns Intercollegiate, tying for 18^th overall with host Hawai'i.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:

• Renato Naula led the charge for San Francisco in the opening round, finishing even-par 70 to tie for 21^st overall after the opening 18 holes. Nils Svanberg also showed promise, firing a 73 (3-over) to tie for 58^th heading into the second round.
• Moving into Friday, the Dons climbed two spots as a team (17^th) in round two, which included Svante Palmgren shooting a 68 (2-under).
• Finishing in a tie with the Rainbow Warriors after the final round, William Svanstrom finished as the high man for USF, tying for 67^th at 10-over-220 (78, 70, 72) to tie for. Three strokes behind, Palmgreen tied for 83^rd at 13-over-223 (80, 68, 75).
• Rounding out the rest of the lineup, Naula tied for 93^rd at 14-over-224 (70, 75, 79), Henry Styles tied for 98^th at 16-over-226 (79, 75, 72), and Svanberg finished 103^rd at 19-over-229 (73, 74, 82).

UP NEXT:
San Francisco will use the next few weeks to regroup as the Dons are set to return to action at the R.E. Lamkin Invitational (hosted by San Diego) at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif., on Mar. 8^th and 9^th. Live results will be available via the team's schedule page.
