DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • San Francisco will recognize three seniors on Thursday night ahead of their final home game of the season against LMU.
  • San Francisco enters its final contest at home following a thrilling 61–60 overtime win over Saint Mary's in Moraga last Saturday. The Dons rallied in the fourth quarter, erasing a 15-point halftime deficit, and took a 54–53 lead with under five minutes remaining after a clutch bucket from Candy Edokpaigbe.
  • Saint Mary's responded with a game-tying three from Abigail Shoff to force overtime, but Aina Cargol delivered the decisive moment, knocking down a go-ahead three-pointer with 14.7 seconds remaining in the extra period to secure the one-point victory.
  • Mara Neira anchored the defense with eight steals, tying Toni Russell and Joy Hollingsworth for third-most in a game in program history. She added 11 points, her fourth double-digit performance in the last five games, along with a game-high eight rebounds and five assists in a complete all-around effort.
  • Edokpaigbe matched her career highs in both points and field goals made, finishing with a game-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting. She currently ranks second in the WCC in scoring at 17.6 points per game.
  • As a team, San Francisco outscored Saint Mary's in points in the paint (22–12), points off turnovers (15–4), and fastbreak points (14–0).
SCOUTING THE LIONS:
  • LMU improved to 19–8, 13–3 in WCC play with a 74–61 victory over San Diego, tying the best conference record in program history (2003–04, 2018–19). The Lions have won seven straight conference games for the first time since 2003–04 and are now tied for the third-most wins in a single season in program history.
  • The program climbed to No. 22 in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 on February 24 after entering the poll for the first time last week at No. 24. The Lions and Gonzaga (No. 17) are the only WCC programs represented in the rankings.
  • Maya Hernandez continues to anchor LMU's frontcourt, finishing with 17 points on eight-of-13 shooting in the Lions' win over San Diego. She leads the team in scoring at 14.9 points per game, has recorded 20 blocks this season, and ranks third in the WCC in field goal percentage at .492.
  • Senior guard Andjela Matic has been the engine behind LMU's historic run. In the Lions' 74–61 win over San Diego, she recorded a game-high 23 points, knocked down five three-pointers, and added five steals in a two-way performance.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • San Francisco and LMU will meet for the 95th time in program history, with San Francisco holding a 53–41 advantage in the all-time series.
  • The most recent matchup came earlier this season, when the Dons edged the Lions 85–82 in overtime. Neira led the way with 18 points, while Edokpaigbe and Cargol each added 17. San Francisco shot an efficient 52.5 percent from the field (31-for-59) to secure the road victory.
