RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Following its series-opening loss on Friday, the University of San Francisco baseball team (9-8) bounced back with a 6-4 victory over UC Riverside (5-14) Saturday afternoon at the Riverside Sports Complex.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

San Francisco jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Myles Kallinger recorded a grand slam home run over the left-field wall.
Kallinger recorded another RBI knock in the fourth inning with a double, scoring Zach Nagy to push the Dons' advantage to 5-0.
UC Riverside trimmed its deficit to 5-3 at the end of the sixth inning, highlighted by a two-run fifth frame.
With the bases loaded at the top of the seventh, Jayden Garrison scored on a passed ball to increase the green and gold advantage to 6-3.
Despite getting to with 6-4, the Highlanders failed to score in the final two innings as the Dons pulled even in the series with the 6-4 victory.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Kallinger paced San Francisco offensively, going two-for-four at the plate with a double, a home run, and a career-best five RBI. He also recorded the second grand slam of his career, with the last coming at UC Riverside on March 12, 2025.
Garrison also registered a multi-hit performance, with two hits in four at-bats, a run scored, and a walk.
Gauge Lockhart impressed on the mound, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out three in four innings of work.
Quentin Pohorski pitched the final three innings to earn the save, as he allowed one run on two hits and struck out a team-high four batters.

UP NEXT:
San Francisco returns to action at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 15, when it takes on UC Riverside in the rubber match of its three-game at the Riverside Sports Complex.
