BAKERSFIELD, CA -- The University of San Francisco men's soccer team (4-4-1) closed out its nonconference schedule Sunday evening, falling to CSU Bakersfield (3-2-2), 2-1, at Main Soccer Field.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

CSU Bakersfield opened the scoring just 16 seconds into the match when Jesse Wangusi found the back of the net off assists from Justin Knighton and Ulisse Alberti.
San Francisco responded with offensive pressure early, as Brayden Beason put a shot on goal in the second minute before David Raphael and Oscar Harris each generated opportunities in the opening 11 minutes.
The Roadrunners doubled their advantage in the 28th minute when Oshea Foster scored to put CSU Bakersfield ahead, 2-0.
The Dons cut the deficit in half at 34:47 when Raphael converted from the penalty spot, bringing San Francisco within one at 2-1 heading into halftime.
San Francisco continued to push early in the second half, with Jaggar Judkins placing a shot on goal in the 49th minute and the Dons earning a corner shortly after.
The Dons were forced to play the remainder of the contest down a player following a red card issued to Ben Norris at 52:47.
Despite playing with 10 men for the final 37 minutes, San Francisco kept CSU Bakersfield off the scoreboard throughout the second half.
The Dons were unable to find the equalizer down the stretch as the Roadrunners held on for the 2-1 decision.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Raphael led the San Francisco attack with the Dons' lone goal, converting his penalty kick in the 35th minute. He finished the contest with three shots, including one on goal.
Beason recorded two shots on goal to help pace the Dons offensively.
Lucas Jones played the full 90 minutes in goal, recording five saves while allowing just two goals.
San Francisco and CSU Bakersfield each finished with 10 total shots, while the Dons placed five attempts on frame.
The Dons held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks and limited the Roadrunners to no goals in the second half.
San Francisco finished the match with seven fouls while playing the final portion of the contest with 10 players.
