2011 WEST COAST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM - HONORABLE MENTION

USF CAREER: Captain of USF since her junior year.

PREP/AMATUER CAREER: Biggest accomplishments were participating in the German championships outdoors and indoors, making it to the round of 32… won the Berlin State Championship twice in singles and once in double in the age category under 21… also won the State Championship in Saxony – Anhalt in singles and three times in doubles… won several individual tournaments throughout Germany in different age categories… played at the No. 1 position in the third-highest league in German club tennis… also became state champions with her team of the TC Blau Weiss Berlin in Juniors while playing at position No. 2…  in 2001 and 2003, her school won the state competition and qualified for “Youth is practicing for Olympia,” a national tournament with the best eight schools in Germany where she played at the No. 1 position… highest ranking was  No. 114 in the German Women’s ranking.

PERSONAL: Born in April of 1989... daughter of Duhmar and Marion Wartenburger... chose USF because of the tennis program and the City... goal for the season is to give her best in every match and never give in... says best advice she was given is from USF head athletic trainer Ron Shinault, '10% of your life is about what happens to you and 90% is how you react to it'... lists her good friends parents, Connie and Stephen Weatherholt, as the most impressive people she has met... would like to attend the World Cup... favorite movies are The Departed and 10 Things I Hate About You... says she is obsessed with chocolate and sugar... loves baking brownies and says she always has chocolate with her, always bringing a big bag of chocolate from Germany… says even though she might be impatient on the court, she loves doing puzzles (doesn’t puzzle anything under 1000 pieces).
