Baggio Hušidic enters his second year on the Hilltop after joining head coach Chris Brown's staff in June of 2021. Hušidic comes to USF after spending the previous two years at Saint Mary's, where he served as an assistant coach alongside Brown under Gaels' head coach Adam Cooper.
The native of Velika Kladuša brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and a coach. He was the 2008 Horizon League Player of the Year and the University of Illinois-Chicago's first NCSSA First Team All-American.
Drafted 20th overall in the 2009 by the Chicago Fire, Hušidic played eight seasons in the MLS, making 164 appearances between the Fire and the Los Angeles Galaxy. Overall, he scored career 14 goals and amassed 18 assists in his career, which included winning the MLS Cup with the Galaxy in 2014.
His professional career also took him abroad, where he played for two years with Hammerby IF in Sweden's top professional league, Allsvenskan, under current USA National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter.
In addition to his playing career, Hušidic has previous coaching experience at Saint Mary's College, the Venice Beach Football Club (with a range of teams from U8 to U16) and at the Kickers Soccer Club. Notably, Hušidic is fluent in English, Spanish, and Bosnian.
