Luis Trejo joined the USF coaching staff in the summer of 2016. In addition to his role as an assistant on Eddie Soto's staff, Trejo serves as the boys director of coaching with the Liverpool International Academy Bay Area U12 through U18 squads in Los Gatos, Calif.
He previously served as the director of player development and scouting with the Juventus Academy U16 and U18 squads
Trejo spent two years as an assistant at the U16 and U18 levels with the San Jose Earthquakes Academy from 2014-2016, helping lead the team to the academy finals during the 2014-15 season while making academy playoff appearances with both squads in 2015-16. He was also the head coach of the San Jose Earthquakes 99 PDA where his team won the State Cup in 2014-15.
No stranger to the collegiate level and above, Trejo was a volunteer assistant at Cal Poly during the 2014 campaign before helping the Burlingame Dragons win the PDL Southwest Division championship as the team's goalkeeper coach in 2015.
Trejo also served as the assistant coach for the De Anza Force Academy's U16 and U18 squads, in addition to his role as goalkeeper coach at Evergreen Valley College. Trejo worked concurrently as a scout and assistant coach with Alianza de Futbol, where he has helped place U.S.-born Mexican-American players with Mexican pro clubs.
A fixture of the Bay Area prep scene, Trejo was formerly on the coaching staff at Valley Christian High School.
As a collegian, Trejo was an All-American goalkeeper at De Anza College before transferring to San Diego State, where he made NCAA Tournament appearances with the Aztecs in 2005 and 2006. Trejo earned his B.A. in business administration from San Diego state in 2007.
Trejo holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier Diploma and a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" License.
