SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. –  Junior Cole Dickerson had 21 points and 15 rebounds while De'End Parker added 20 points to lead USF to a 93-77 victory over San Francisco State in an exhibition contest at Memorial Gymnasium.
 
Five Dons reached double figures in scoring. Freshman Tim Derksen had 13 points in his collegiate debut, Cody Doolin and Chris Adams added 12 and Frank Rogers chipped in with 10.
 
Doolin also dished out nine assists against just one turnover.
 
USF made 12 of 27 of its three point attempts and shot 48.4 percent from the field.
 
Nefi Perdomo led San Francisco State in scoring with 23 points while Robbie Herndon added 16.
 
USF built a 49-35 lead at the half led by as many as 25 points in the second frame, 62-37 at the 15:47 mark. The Gators cut the led to 10 at 66-56 with 11:10 left but USF went on a 12-2 run to build he lead back up to 20 at 78-58 at the 8:47 mark.
 
“They are a hard match up,” said USF head coach Rex Walters. “They are a very good test for us. I don't think we made a very good defensive stand, and we take pride in that.”
 
“Cole (Dickerson) was really active tonight,” said Walters. “He has a real nose for the basketball both as a scorer and rebounder.”
 
USF will return to action on Monday, Nov. 2, hosting UNC-Pembroke in the final exhibition contest prior to the Nov. 9 opener against Stanford at Oracle Arena.
