SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- USF's women's golf team will join the field at the 28th Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course on Marines Corps Base Hawai'i in Kane'ohe, O'ahu.
The participants will play 36 holes on Tuesday and 18 on Wednesday on the par 72, 6,099 yard course with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start on each day.
Joining USF in the field will be teams from Arizona, Central Connecticut, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, UH-Hilo, Idaho, Illinois State, New Mexico, Lipscomb, Louisville, Mississippi, Ohio State, Seattle, UTEP and Washington State.
Arizona, ranked 12th in the latest Golf Week Top 25 poll, is the only ranked team in the field.
Head coach
Sarah Glynn is expected to start a lineup consisting of
Eyglo Oskarsdottir, Emelie Lundstrom,
Peppiina Kaija,
Michelle Condry and
Victoria House. The Dons will be paired with Ole Miss, Idaho and Louisville for the first 36 holes on Tuesday.
USF hopes to build some much-needed momentum with the West Coast Conference Championships a little more than a month away. The Dons have finished last in two of their three tournaments this spring and are coming off a 13th place showing last week at the 14-team Juli Inkster Invitational.
Kaija was USF's top finisher at the Juli Inkster Invite, tying for 53rd with a score of 238 on rounds of 73--79-86.
