STANFORD, Calif. -- Three Dons set new school records on Saturday, to highlight the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
In the 800 m, Sean Gomes set a new school record with a time of 1:51.46, good enough for third place. He surpassed his previous school record of 1:51.75, set earlier this season at the Nor Cal Opener.
Senior Jose Madera placed 13th in the 10,000 m, with a time of 29:07.75, a personal best and new school record. Madera surpassed his own previous school record of 29:19.23, set last season.
Robert Parker was the third Don to set a new school record on Saturday. He placed third with a throw of 60.97 m, which surpassed his previous school record of 60.22., set during the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Cameron Farrell also competed in the javelin. he placed fifth with a throw of 49.51 m.
Adrian Shocks took first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.86 m.
In the 3,000 m steeplechase, freshman Mohamed Aziz placed 15th with a time of 9:07.77.
On the women's side, Elena Burkard placed fifth in the 5,000 m with a time of 16:11.87, while teammate Jana Soethout placed 18th in 17:07.40.
Kate Jamboretz placed seventh in the 1,500 m with a time of 4:29.86.
