SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The USF men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw with San Francisco State in exhibition action on Wednesday morning at Negoesco Stadium. It was a chance to get some competitive game action in during the Dons' preseason training.
USF took an early lead when Davi Ramos scored in the ninth minute. Ramos took a pass near the far left wing and lofted a shot from about 10 yards out that floated over the San Francisco State keeper and into the left corner of the net to put the Dons up 1-0.
Shortly after, in the 15th minute, freshman Sean Bowman found the back of the net after Ramos delivered a pass through that set Bowman up for a one-on-one with the keeper near the right wing, which Bowman punched low into the right corner for the score.
San Francisco State tallied their goals in the 46th minute and 62nd minute of the second half.
All in all, the Dons were able to work in the majority of their roster throughout the match, giving second-year head coach Eddie Soto a chance to see how all of the pieces are fitting together so far.
USF will continue preseason preparation with an exhibition at UCLA on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. before opening the regular season at Penn State on Aug. 28.
