Henry Chung birdied four of his last 10 holes in the final round of the St. Mary's Invitational to secure his first career top-10 finish.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- USF saved its best for the last round of the St. Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course and as a result, the Dons came away with a fourth place finish in the inaugural event of the season.
After posting rounds of 295 and 290 the previous two days, the Dons carded their lowest round of the tournament on Wednesday, finishing with a final round 286 (+2) to secure a fourth place finish on the demanding Poppy Hills layout.
San Diego State won the event with a 1-under score of 851, good for a four stroke victory over second-place St. Mary's (855).
Gonzaga senior Sean Walsh used a final round 66 to claim medalist honors with a 5-under score of 208 for the 54-hole event. Walsh, who won the prestigious North & South Amateur Championship over the summer, finished two strokes clear of Saint Mary's teammates Jonathan De Los Reyes and Pavan Sagoo, who were 3-under 210.
USF's trio of Sebastian Crookall-Nixon, Henry Chung and Storm Lee combined to play even par golf on a day the Dons also counted a solid final round 73 by sophomore Jalen Griffin for its 286 total.
Crookall-Nixon, who entered the final round just one stroke off the lead, settled for seventh place following a final round 72. The senior made the turn at two over and was three over on his round following a bogey on the par-4 12th hole. He battled back with consecutive birdies on holes 16 and 17 and parred the par-5 18th to finish one over for the day to earn his ninth career top-10 finish.
Chung produced a even par 71 to earn a share of ninth place at 215 (+2), which marked the sophomore's first career top-10 finish. Chung was four over on his round after seven holes only to birdie four of his last 10 holes to draw even on his card.
Lee capped off his collegiate debut with a final round 70 to finish tied for 17th place at 217 (+4). The freshman birdied four of his last seven holes on the front side only to bogey four of his next seven holes before picking up his final birdie of the day on the par-5 18th hole.
Griffin's final round 73 featured two birdies to go along with four bogeys.
Junior Max Alcorn tied for 71st at 232 (+19) following a final round 78.
USF will return to action on Oct. 3-4 when the Dons join the field at the Wyoming Southern Dunes Intercollegiate.
