36-Hole Team and Individual ResultsCHANDLER, Ariz. - USF's men's golf team turned in rounds of 296 and 294 on Monday at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic being held on the Cattial Course at the Whirlwind Golf Club and after 36 holes the Dons find themselves in 15th place in the 19-team field.
Six teams are at even par or better after 36 holes, with Sam Houston State setting the pace with an 18-under score of 558. The Bearkats will take a four stroke lead over Wyoming and Colorado into Tuesday's final round, while Western Kentucky (-5) and William & Mary (-1) are also under par.
Jake McCroy of Sam Houston State turned in rounds of 66 and 68 on Monday at at 134 (-10), holds a three stroke lead over Jeremy Paul of Colorado and Brandon Bauman of UC Santa Barbara.
All told, 28 golfers are under par at the 36-hole mark of the tournament.
USF senior
Sebastian Crookall-Nixon used five birdies and an eagle to shoot a second round 69 and is tied for 20th place at 1-under 143.
Kraig McLeod is tied for 36th at 145 following rounds of 72 and 73. McLeod was 4-under on his morning round but gave all the strokes back with a quadruple bogey on the par-4 18th hole.
Jalen Griffin is at 5-over 149 and tied for 71st place following rounds of 75 and 74.
Freshman
Storm Lee is tied for 102nd place at 155 (+11) following rounds of 77 and 78 while
Mathias Wentjarvi is in 105th place at 158 (75-83).
The Wyoming Cowboy Classc will wrap up Tuesday at Whirlwind.
