The USF men's soccer team continues its regular season slate with a pair of contests this week – a road matchup at CSU Bakersfield on Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by their home opener on Sunday against UC Davis at 7 p.m.
USF (0-1-0) suffered a 3-1 loss to Nebraska-Omaha in their season opener this past Friday and had their follow up contest at No. 7 Creighton cancelled due to lightning.
Bryce Kaminski registered USF's goal against Omaha when he connected on a rebound in the 11
th minute.
The Dons will be looking to avenge losses to CSU Bakersfield and UC Davis last year. The Dons dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker in overtime to CSUB at home before falling to the Aggies 3-1 later that weekend.
CSU Bakersfield (1-1-0) split its two contests during their opening weekend - both at home - defeating Sacramento State 3-1 before falling to Drake 1-0 in overtime. Julian Zamora netted a pair of goals for the Roadrunners while Hugo Vinales added two assists. CSUB finished the 2015 season with a 7-6-6 record and was picked to finish 4th in the WAC this year. The Roadrunners hold a 3-0-0 edge in the all-time series.
UC Davis (0-1-0) settled with a scoreless draw against San Jose State in their season opener this past weekend at home. The Aggies went 8-10-3 last season. USF owns a 12-2-2 record against UC Davis all-time.
Sunday's home opener will be streamed live via TheW.tv with Charles Wollin and Joe Dugan on the call.
Looking ahead, the Dons will travel across the country to face Florida Gulf Coast on Sept. 8 and South Florida on Sept. 10.
