FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Carding the third lowest round of the day as a team, the University of San Francisco women's golf team finished tied for third with a three-day total of 872 at the Rams Challenge at the Ptarmigan Country Club.
New Mexico State took home the team title, finishing with team score of 856 (-8). In second was San Jose State, two back with a score of 858 (-6). The Dons finished tied for third with Colorado State with a three-day score of 872 (+8). USF moved up one spot to tie with the Rams after posting a final day score of 287, their lowest round of the tournament.
Vanessa Ha finished the tournament with a three-round score of 214 (-2), which was good enough to place tied for sixth. Ha's final round score of 6-under 66 shot her up 17 places on the leader board. Ha caught fire down the stretch, recording a birdie in four of the last five holes.
Coming in second for USF was
Joan Soewondo, who finished tied for 17
th with a score of 220 (+4). Her final round card featured five birdies.
Emily Laskin finished the tournament tied for 26 with a 222 (+6), she was followed by
Samantha Gong who finished tied for 32nd with a three-day score of 223 (+7).
The Dons will return to action September 25 when they travel to Coeur d'Alene, ID for the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational hosted by Gonzaga.
