Facing the Toreros: The Toreros hold an 83-56 advantage over the Dons in the career series. In the past two seasons both teams have swept the season series', with the Toreros taking the 2017 series. The Dons took it to the Toreros in 2016, sweeping the series and averaging just over nine runs a game.
Conference Record: The Dons swept the Pilots over the weekend to make it their second consecutive conference sweep of the season, keeping their record in the WCC a perfect 6-0.
The Weekend Aces: Against Portland, the trio of
Thomas Ponticelli,
Riley Ornido and
Landen Bourassa kept their impressive seasons going, earning three wins over the Pilots. Ponticelli and Ornido both threw seven innings, while striking out nine a piece in their starts. Bourassa also went seven innings and allowed no runs. The junior also struck out four over that span. The three are now 13-1 on the season.
The Power of Perri: The senior leads the way in multiple categories, including slugging percentage (.548), RBIs (19) and homeruns (4). Against the Pilots, Perri launched a two run homerun against the Pilots in USF's 4-0 win over their conference foe.
On Base Machine: After reaching base safely in all four games this weekend and Monday,
Riley Helland has now reached base safely in 22 straights games so far this season.
