LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (16-13, 7-2) dropped a hard-fought 10-7 West Coast Conference decision at LMU (10-24, 2-7) in the series finale Saturday evening at Page Stadium.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Trailing 3-0 at the top of the fourth inning, San Francisco plated a pair of runs to trim its deficit to 3-2. TJ Rogers put the Dons on the board with a solo home run, and Jayden Garrison added a sacrifice fly during the frame.
- After the Lions added two runs to extend their lead to 5-2, the green and gold scored five times in the top of the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead. The Dons totaled five hits throughout the frame as Zach Nagy secured the lead with a one-out two-RBI single through the left side of the infield.
- LMU answered with five unanswered runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings and held San Francisco scoreless in the final four innings to secure the win and series.
- Jack Nystrom led the green and gold at the plate, going four-for-five, with an RBI and a run scored.
- Nagy recorded his first-career multi-RBI game with two, while going one-for-four at the plate.
- Rogers recorded his ninth home run of the season, his fourth in the last five games, and now leads the West Coast Conference.
- Paul Wheeler impressed on the mound in relief, pitching the final two innings and only allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out two batters.
