THE RUNDOWN
Stanford, Calif. - The University of San Francisco's track and field team's third trip to Cobb Track and Angell Field was as successful as their first two meets, with top marks and personal bests highlighting their performance.
Â
Entering her heat in the 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Marie Bouchard turned in another impressive time as she raced away from the pack to earn the win in her heat. The senior finished the race with a time of 9:41.32, which ranks sixth in the world besting her previous time, and school record, of 9:47.03. On top of that, her time was a personal best.Â
Â
Racing with Bouchard, and competing unattached, was teammate
Lizzie Bird who finished with a time of 9:53.59, which put her third in the same heat.
Â
On the men's side in the 1,500m, it was
Jacob Allen who would put up the top mark for the Dons with his time of 3:44.02. Allen, coming off his school record 5,000m time at the Cardinal Classic, adds another top mark in USF's all-time list, while posting a personal best in the 1,500m, as well.
Â
Next up for the Dons is a trip to Sacramento, Calif. where they will compete in the Hornet Open on Saturday, May 5.

COACHES QUOTES
Head coach Helen Lehman-Winters
On the performance from Bouchard:
"Marie was impressive this evening. After the first two laps, she pulled away from the field and posted an impressive solo mark. This was a personal best, but she will have the opportunity to run even faster in the championship season. Lizzie also posted a personal best and was very strong in the middle kilometer."
Â
On the performance from Allen:
"After running a personal best in the 5k at the Cardinal Classic, it was great to see Jacob back that up with another PB. He got boxed in during the middle of the race but was able to sneak out and finish strong in the last lap. (This is a No. 2 USF all time). Marie's run is No. 6 in the world."
