The University of San Francisco men's golf is back in action for their final tournament prior to the West Coast Conference Championships when they travel to Davis, Calif., to participate in the El Macero Classic hosted by the Aggies at the El Macero Country Club Friday through Sunday. The Dons are currently ranked 62
nd in the latest Golfstat rankings and are fresh off a 17
th place finish at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford.

The Course
El Macero Country Club features an 18-hole parkland-style Championship course stretching to 6,862 yards from the furthest set of tees. The course was designed by course architect Bob Baldock, who designed several courses in California and Nevada. The course offers four different sets of tee markers, and the rating and slope from the back tees is 73.0/129. El Macero has served as a qualifying spot for several USGA events over the years, and serves as the home course for UC Davis Men's and Women's golf teams. Notable PGA Tour players that have played in tournaments at El Macero include Byron Nelson, Peter Jacobsen, Tiger Woods, and Nick Watney.
The Field
This is the sixth year El Macero Country Club and its members have hosted teams from across the country. This year 15 teams will participate in the tournament, including top ranked teams: #10/19 Texas Tech, #50/37 SMU, #48/43 Nevada, #52/59 Oregon State, and #73/73 Cal State Fullerton. Top individuals in this year's event include: #16/16 Sandy Scott (TTU), #27/42 Noah Goodwin (SMU), #63/38 McClure Meissner (SMU) and #85/94 Thomas Hutchison (UC Davis).
The Dons
The Dons are coming off a 17
th place finish at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford at the Stanford Golf Course it was the second of two tournaments that USF participated in last week. USF took seventh at the Duck Invitational with
Toby Briggs cracking the top-10 and
Soren Lind finishing in the top-20. At The Goodwin, the Dons were led by
Alex Chin who had a tremendous final around and
Tim Widing who cracked the top-50. This week, the Dons will shake up their lineup going with Widing, Briggs, Lind, and freshmen
Christoffer Palsson and
Matthew Anderson.
