MSOC | Get to Know Leonard Griffin

The University of San Francisco presented Leonard Griffin as the sixth men's soccer head coach in program history last week. In an exclusive interview at Negoesco Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, Charles Wollin, "the Voice of USF Soccer," sat down with Griffin and discussed the future of USF's development in playing style and culture. 

Griffin, was named head coach on April 11 after serving as an assistant coach for the University of Portland, UCLA, California, and Saint Mary's. He recruited, coached and developed 35 professional players in MLS, USL and abroad and led each team to post-season titles. 

Griffin was an All-American at UCLA and led the Bruins to an NCAA title in 2002. Following his college career, he spent six seasons playing professionally for Los Angeles Galaxy, Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Portland Timbers.
