WHATS THE STORY
• USF enters this week with a 1-1 overall record after splitting their two games in the Aloha State.  The Dons fell to No. 5 USC 2-0 before defeating tournament host Hawaii 3-2 in the first overtime.
• In the win over Hawaii, the Dons earned their first road overtime win since Sep. 9, 2016 when USF defeated Arizona State 2-1.
• Senior forward Samantha Jehnings scored a pair of goals in the win over Hawaii.  It was the fifth time in her career she has scored multiple goals.  Jehnings' two goals now gives her 26 for her career, she is two shy of tying Chelsea Hunt (2003-06) for third all-time with 28 career goals.
• Fellow senior, Miciah Madison hit the golden goal to earn the win for the Dons last Monday.  It is her 10th career goal and fifth career game winner.
• Senior Olivia Camera's10 saves against the fifth ranked Trojans is the fifth time in her career she's tallied 10 or more assists in a game.  The last time she recorded 10 or more was against BYU on Nov. 2, 2017 when she finished with 12.  With her 15 saves last weekend she now has 193 for her career which is one shy of tying Kelly Pohle (2006-09) for third all-time.
• Camera's 15 saves currently ranks 11th in the nation.
• Shot Accuracy:  After two games, the Dons are fourth in the nation in shot accuracy.  USF has an 0.765 shots on goal percentage, taking 17 shots with 13 on goal.  Senior Miciah Madison has taken six shots with all six on target.
• On the road:  Under head coach Jim Millinder the Dons are 22-46-6.  USF has had one winning road season in the Millinder era, that came in 2015 when USF was 7-2-1 on true road contests

THURSDAY'S GAME
San Diego State concludes its four-game, season-opening homestand this week with a Thursday night game against San Francisco and then a Sunday matinee against California on the SDSU Sports Deck. The four-game homestand is the longest of the season for SDSU. The Aztecs are 1-1 after falling to No. 22 Texas Tech 6-1 on Aug. 22. Three days later they rebounded to defeat LIU 1-0.  Kiera Utusch and Chloe Frisch lead the team with one goal apiece. In goal for SDS U is Brooke Lisowski who is 1-1 and has four saves on the year.

SERIES HISTORY

SUNDAY'S CONTEST
The Fighting Illini are 2-0 to begin the 2019 campaign.  Last week they defeated Loyola Chicago 3-1 on Thursday before defeating Dayton 3-2 last Sunday.  Illinois was picked to finish eighth in the Big Ten preseason poll as voted on by the head coaches in the conference.  Junior midfielder Hope Breslin leads the team with a pair of goals, she is one of five players who has scored a goal for the Illini so far this season.
