MSOC | Dons Fall Short in Season Opener to Seattle U

Box Score  SEATTLE, Wash. — The University of San Francisco's men's soccer team kicked off the 2019 regular season falling short to Seattle U, 5-0 on Friday night at Championship Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Redhawks led from start to finish. At the 12th minute mark Thomas Mickoski crossed the box to forward Noe Meza who struck past Ruben Stuiver to lead the Dons, 1-0.
  • At the 20th mark Seattle U continued to press offensively as midfielder Bruke Fahling launched the ball across the box to Hamish Ritchie to score from the left side of the net. 
  • Before the end of the first half, the Redhawks dominated down the line when Meza escaped past multiple Dons and scored from the left side of the box. Meza recorded his second goal of the night at the 41st minute. At the half, Seattle U led with 17 shots and eight on goal. 
  • At the 46th mark, the Redhawks saw two more goals in a matter of a minute. Declan McLynn owned the right side and scorched it from the top of the box followed by Fahling's who received a pass from Julian Avila-Good inside the box for a direct shot in the backend of the net.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
