- CSUN are 2-0 to start the 2019 season, defeating Ohio State (4-3) and Dayton (3-1)
- The Dons and the Matadors meet for the 13th time as USF holds a 10-2 advantage. Last season the Dons defeated CSUN 3-2 at home
- Junior Daniel Trejo was selected Offensive Player of the Week by the Big West Conference after scoring two goals and two assists to lead the Matadors in a tournament title last weekend
- Junior Giovanni Aguilar's assist led the Matadors to a 3-2 lead over Ohio State which earned him Defensive Player of the Week
- Freshman Samuel Slater scored the game-winning goal against Ohio State, in result earning him Freshman of the Week honors
