HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Dons opened the contest 3-for-4 from long range and led 11-7 early but a 15-3 run by the Lions had USF trailing 22-14 with less than six minutes to play in the opening period. Six players scored for the Lions in the early going –Scott and Ivan Alipiev led the way with seven each.
• USF closed out the first half on an 8-2 run – an old fashioned three point play by

• Out of the break Kunen hit a three at the top of the key to give the Dons their first lead since early in the first half. From there, USF continued to play stifling defense and managed to build on their lead.
• USF got a big emotional boost with 12:44 to play in the contest when Ratinho hit the record breaking triple in front of the Dons bench on a fast break. From there, the Dons pushed their lead to as high as 10 with less than 10 seconds to play.
