SAN FRANCISCO – Season seven of USF's cable television show, "Behind the Mask," will debut on Wednesday, October 28 at 9:30 p.m. In this episode, Behind the Mask celebrates Civil Rights activists who have fought to make our country just, athletics finds the silver lining in a pandemic, and USF acts upon their most basic rights.
In this segment, which was co-produced by the University of San Francisco's Office of Marketing and Communications, we look at the impact voting can have on a community. As the 2020 election looms closer, Behind the Mask interviewed Derick Brown, USF's Senior Director at the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good, Jonathan D. Greenberg ,Co-Founder of USF's Institute for Non-Violence and Social Justice, and Kique Bazán Associate Director for Immersions and Arrupe Programs.
The trio discuss their experience in voting, detail the history and cultural significance of voting, and the impact it has on the local, state, and federal elections
