MSOC | Dons Sign Filip Kanold for 2020

SAN FRANCISCO – Second year head coach Leonard Griffin is pleased to announce the addition of midfielder Filip Kanold from Stockholm, Sweden. Kanold, who signed a National Letter of Intent, is the second player to sign in Griffin's inaugural class and will join the Dons for the 2020 season.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Filip Kanold to our men's soccer program," said Griffin. "Filip has extensive experience playing at a very high level in Sweden. This, along with his technical/tactical and leadership ability will enable him to have a huge impact to the future success of our team both on and off the field."

A 6-1 centerback and holding midfielder, he currently plays for Djurgardens U19 squad.  It is one of the top youth academies in Sweden and part of the U19 League.

Kanold chose USF "because it presented me with the opportunity to live in one of the coolest cities in the world, while being able to combine the ability to get an incredible education while continuing to play the sport I love."

Kanold joins Nonso Adimabua of Asaba, Nigeria as the two players in the 2020 class. For more updates on USF Dons on twitter @USFDonsMSoccer
