NEW YORK – University of San Francisco's own
Katie Morgan, Director of Creative Video, has done it again. On Wednesday morning, The Telly Awards announced the 41st Annual Winners, and Morgan took home a Gold Telly for the Television category Craft Editing for the special "Living Your Authentic Truth – The Ryan Marker Story" which appeared on "Behind the Mask."
The Gold Telly Award is new to the Telly Awards. For the last 39 years, silver was the highest marker for excellence. This year, a Gold Telly was introduced, which is exclusively awarded to the top 3% of winning entries.
This is the fifth time Morgan has won a Telly. She won a Silver Telly last year for "The Rise." The Ryan Marker story was created for the Dons' cable access show "Behind the Mask" and was created with the help of
Woo Nguyen who was the cinematography for this remarkable piece.
The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials with non-broadcast video and television programming added soon after. With the recent evolution and rise of digital video (web series, VR, 360 and beyond), the Telly Awards today also reflects and celebrates this exciting new era of the moving image on and offline.
