MGOLF | After Two Rounds, Dons Sit atop the Leaderboard

University Place, Wash. – After the completion of the first day at the 2021 Redhawk Invitational the University of San Francisco men's golf team finds themselves in a familiar place on the leaderboard, the top. After two rounds on Monday at Chambers Bay Golf Course the Dons sit in first with a 20-under 584 (281-267).
USF opened the tournament with a bang. The Dons shot the low round in the first 18 holes with a 3-under 281. In the second round, they were even better. The Dons blasted the field shooting a 17-under 267 as a team. All five Dons are in the top-18 with Matthew Anderson in first and Soren Lind right behind him in second.
Anderson finished the opening round with a 5-under 66. He began his day with five birdies in the first round and carded four more on the second round for nine birdies on the day. He finished the day with a 7-under 135 (66-69).
Lind was on fire in the second round. After shooting a 3-over 74 in the opening round Lind was magnificent on the final 18 of the day. He shot a 9-under 62 to finish the day with a 6-under (74-62). Lind carded 12 birdies on the day which is tops after 36 holes.
Toby Briggs finished in seventh place with a 2-under 140 (72-68). Briggs was tremendous on the par-4s on Monday leading the pack with an average score of 3.87 on the par-4s and finished 3-under.
Tim Widing sits in a tie for eighth place with a 1-under 141 (69-72). Christoffer Palsson is tied for 18th with an even par 142 (74-68). Competing as an individual, Alex Chin is tied for 35th with a 3-over 145 (73-72).
The Dons are leading second place Washington and Utah by 16 strokes. In fourth place is Fresno State at 3-under followed by Saint Mary's in fifth at 2-over.
