WBB | Dons Land Another Talented International Player

SAN FRANCISCO – Head coach Molly Goodenbour continues to add size and athleticism with the addition of 6-foot, 2-inch power forward Claudia Langarita, who signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of San Francisco for the 2021-22 season.

Langarita currently plays for Segle XXI, which is a developmental program at the national team level. She competes in the LF2, which is the second division in the Spanish professional league. It is the same league where former Don Rachel Howard '17 plays.

"Claudia will be a great addition to our team," said Goodenbour. "Her combination of size, skill, shooting and basketball IQ will fit well with our style of play. She has played internationally at a high level and has benefitted from excellent coaching and skill development throughout her career. We are excited for her to join us and begin her USF journey."

Last season playing for Segle XXI, Langarita played in 26 games averaging 24.3 minutes per contest.  She averaged 7.5 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per contest. She shot 41.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc.

No stranger to international competition, Langarita will likely be a starter on Spain's U18/19 National Team this summer. Previously she played for the U16, U17, and U18 team for Spain. While playing for the U16 team in the 2019 FIBA European Championship she played in five games, averaging 3.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.  In the win over Italy in the quarter finals, she finished with nine points and had five points in just over 13 minutes of action.

Langarita joins an incoming class that includes 6'4" forward Lorena Anunciacao from Brazil, 6'0" wing Kennedy Dickie from Eastern Washington, and 5'9" guard Aya Kéita from Hungary.
