SAN FRANCISCO – First year head coach
Chris Brown is pleased to announce the addition of goalkeeper Christian "CJ" Pycior (Los Alamitos HS/Seal Beach, Calif.) who signed a scholarship agreement to attend the University of San Francisco this fall.

Sam Reynolds, who oversees USF's keepers. "CJ is known in the region to be one of, if not the best distributors of the ball with his feet. CJ is also a great student and another high character young man that will add to fantastic culture of this young Dons men's soccer team"
Pycior is a 5-foot, 11-inch keeper who lettered all four years for head coach Donovan Martinez and the Griffins. The 2020 Sunset League Defensive MVP is a two-time First Team All-Sunset League honoree. He was named to the 2020 Long Beach Press Telegram Honorable Mention team as well.
The elite keeper, recorded six shutouts in conference play his senior season, leading his squad to a 14-8 overall record, including a conference winning 7-1 mark in the Sunset League. That season he boasted a 0.50 goals against average. Pycior was also an offensive threat, taking free kicks for the Griffins.
In the classroom, he also excelled. He is a three-time Scholar Athlete honoree and was named to the Sunset League All-Academic Team in 2020 and 2021.
On the club circuit, he played coach Jose Esparza and Beach FC ESNL from 2019-21, prior to that he played for coach Tim Summiel and the La Galaxy South Bay from 2017-19.
Pycior will join fellow newcomers Tobias Wangerud and Ferdy Ghafury as newcomers to the squad for the 2021 season. USF kicks off their campaign with an exhibition against San Jose State on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at Negoesco Stadium. That game is slated 5:00 p.m. first kick. Admission will be open to the public.
