SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Returning to the pitch for the first time in eleven days, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (1-3-0) will aim to secure their first road win of the fall season when they head south for contests at Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Last time out, USF fell 3-0 at Cal Poly on Monday, Sept. 6. Despite the loss, seven different Dons recorded at least one shot on goal: Nonso Adimabua (2), Gabriel Bracken Serra, Shayan Charalaghi (2), Tamba Di Mattia, Elias Thomas, Dominic Valdivia, Jack Boccuzi and Nik Kizerian.
- Having defeated Sacramento State at home on Thursday, Aug. 26, USF is in search of their first win away from Negoesco Stadium after falling at UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.
- Individually, Adimabua leads the Dons with two goals scored while Charalaghi also found the back of the net one for USF. In the cage, freshman goalkeeper Charlie McKay has logged 12 saves in 4 matches (.571 save percentage) to begin his collegiate career.
SCOUTING THE TITANS:
- Playing in six matches overall so far, the Titans are still looking for their first official victory of their 2021 campaign. Last time out, Cal State Fullerton fell, 2-1, on the road at Denver on Sunday, Sept. 12.
- Pacing the offense, Sebastian Cruz and Samuel Owusu are tied for the team lead with two goals apiece while Jose Delgado has scored one other goal for the Titans. Notably, Mario Gomez leads Cal State Fullerton with 14 total shots as Cruz and Alex Pimentel sit in second with 7 shots each. However, all three of these players have individually tallied 5 shots on goal as well.
- Beginning with a matchup against USF, the Titans open a four-game home stand on Friday night as they are set to host San Diego, Santa Clara and UC Santa Barbara following their battle with the Dons.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS:
- Similar to Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside will close their four-game home stand when they welcome the Dons on Sunday evening. Set to play Dixie State on Friday night, the Highlanders have lost their first two matches of the home stretch by falling to California Baptist, 2-1, in OT on Thursday, Sept. 9 and to LMU, 3-2, on Sunday, Sept. 12.
- Offensively, Issa Badawiy is a force to be reckoned with for UC Riverside as he currently leads the team in goals (3), assists (1), points (7), shots (8) and shots on goal (5).
- In goal, Carlos Gomez has tallied 14 saves in six matches, good for a .700 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY:
- In eight matches since 2010, USF is 1-7 against Cal State Fullerton, with their lone win over the Titans coming on the road in Fullerton in a 2-1 victory on Sept. 5, 2014.
- For the Highlanders, USF has split their two matchups against UC Riverside since 2015, falling 3-0 on the road in 2015 before getting revenge in a 3-2, double overtime home victory on Sept. 25, 2016.
