DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • In their last match against No. 9 Portland, the Dons put up a hard-fought fight but fell on a Pilots goal in the second half. Despite the result, USF outshot their opponent, 9-8, as they continue to hold an average of 14.5 shots per game, placing them first in the conference. Notably, the green and gold have tallied 160 total shots across their first eleven matches, which is also good for second in the WCC.
  • Offensively, Omar Juarez made his second start for the Dons in the match against Portland as the freshman matched his season-high with three shots against the Pilots.
  • As a team, USF has enjoyed success defensively as the Dons are currently allowing less than one goal per game (0.91), good for fourth in the WCC.
SCOUTING THE BEARS:
  • Cal currently holds a record of 0-3-1 in Pac-12 conference play and are ranked fourth out of six teams in their league. Head coach Leonard Griffin, who was previously at the helm of the Dons from 2019-2021, is in his first full season with the Bears.
  • Dangerous on the attack, senior Ibrahim Fahmi leads the team with 10 points so far this season. Overall, his five goals are also good for third in the Pac-12 Conference heading into the weekend.
  • As a unit, the Bears have logged 11 goals in 11 games by five different goal scorers. Additionally, Cal has three players with at least three points, including former USF forward and 2020-21 WCC Freshman of the Year NonsoAdimabua.
