LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of San Francisco women's golf team finished in seventh place on the final day of the Golf Iconic Classic with a one-over-par 865 in its third tournament of the season.
Long Beach State finished 23-under-par 841 to secure first place, with tournament hosts New Mexico State finishing nine-under-par 855 to take second place.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- As a team, San Francisco finished second in total pars with 182, just one behind Boston College and Long Beach State, who finished with 183. The Dons also finished seventh out of the 17-team field with 40 birdies.
- Finishing with a strong performance, Eva Pett earned a sixth-place finish on the player leaderboard with a three-under-par 213 (68-72-73).
- Pett, who also finished sixth in the same event last season, tied for eighth in birdies with 11 while ranking third in Par 4s with a two-under-par and an average score of 3.93.
- Also having a solid outing in New Mexico, Riana Mission finished in a tie for 17th place with a one-under-par 215 (69-72-74). Mission thrived on the Par 5s, leading the field with a score of five-under-par and ranking fourth in pars with 40.
UP NEXT:
San Francisco returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 22, when they travel to Nevada to compete in The Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by NAU. The three-day tournament will be played at Desert Hawk/Coyote Run.
