SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Fresh off of defeating No. 20 LMU, the West Coast Conference has announced that
Ramon Munoz of San Francisco has been named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
Â
Making a statement in his final home game as a Don, Munoz provided another dominant performance for San Francisco on Saturday night as the Dons picked up their second ranked win of the season by upsetting No. 20 LMU, 3-1, at Negoesco Stadium.Â
Â
In the victory, the graduate student found the back of the net for the first time as a Don as he scored off a set piece from
Gabriel Bracken Serra to get the green and gold on the board in the 23rd minute. Notably, he helped limit a potent Lions offense to only three shots on target throughout the match. Additionally, he also played a full 90 minutes for the eleventh straight game as he won multiple duels and headers during play.
Â
For San Francisco, this mark's the team's third player of the week honor this fall as
Gabriel Bracken Serra has been tabbed WCC Offensive Player of the Week twice so far.
