Men's Soccer Treks to Air Force for Saturday Night Matchup

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Hitting the road for the first time in five games, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (5-1-2) treks to Colorado Springs this weekend as the Dons are set for a Saturday night matchup at Air Force.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • In their last time out, San Francisco recorded their fifth win of the fall by blanking Sacramento State, 1-0, on Sunday, Sept. 17 for their third shutout at home so far this season. Ofgfensively, Zane Alafranji scored the lone goal of the match early for the Dons as the sophomore netted his first goal of the season in just the fourth minute of action, which ultimately went on to be the game-winning goal. Overall, the green and gold outshot the Hornets 22-7, which included 11 shots on goal.
  • Within the WCC, Olivier Sylvain currently ranks fourth in the conference in shots (22) while Gabriel Bracken Serra (8) and Constantinos Michaeldies (8) are tied for sixth in shots on goal.
  • In goal, Eric Waltz continues to be a force to be reckoned with as the redshirt junior is currently tied for fourth in the WCC with 21 total saves through eight games.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS:
  • With eight games played so far, Air Force is still looking for their first win of the season. Notably, the Falcons fell to Sacramento State, 3-1, at home on Sunday, Sept. 3.
  • Individually, Luke Hill has totaled three of the team's six goals so far this year as he has also tallied one assist to record nine points. Overall, he currently ranks in second in the WAC in shots with 21.
  • In their last two matches, Remi Smith recorded the lone goal for Air Force in both games last week as he added four points across two games to climb to a total of five on the season.  
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Since 2013, the Air Force has led the overall series between these two programs, 3-1. In their last matchup, the Dons fell 1-0 to the Falcons at Negoesco Stadium on Sept. 25, 2022.
