SAN FRANCISCO, Calif./ CORVALLIS, Ore. - The University of San Francisco men's soccer team (5-5-3, 3-0-1 WCC) is ready for another crucial week of conference play as the Dons will host their second top five opponent in the last two weeks by welcoming No. 4 San Diego (10-1-2, 4-0 WCC) to the Hilltop on Wednesday, Oct. 30 before traveling north to Corvallis for a showdown with Oregon State (8-3-2, 4-1 WCC) on Sunday, Nov. 3.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- In their last matchup, San Francisco earned a crucial road win when they bested LMU on Saturday, Oct. 26 by a score of 2-1. With the win, the Dons moved into third place in the conference standings with a total of 10 points while also improving their unbeaten record to 3-0-1 in conference play.
- Joe Core has been a key component for San Francisco in the recent weeks as the graduate transfer has held down the defense with consistent 90 minute performances in the last five matches while also being effective on offense. Notably, the Arlington, Va. native netted his second goal off a corner kick in the victory over LMU as he began the scoring for the green and gold against the Lions.
- After converting on a penalty kick in the first half at LMU, Gabriel Bracken Serra's third goal of the year helped the midfielder take the lead for most points on the team (11). Overall, this mark is also good for seventh in the conference.
- Nationally, San Francisco continues to rank amongst the nation's best in corner kicks per game (3rd, 6.92), shots per game (6th, 16.77) and shots on goal per game (T-11th, 6.85).
SCOUTING THE TOREROS:
- Currently ranked No. 4 in the country, San Diego comes into the week in first place in the WCC after taking down Oregon State, 2-0, at home this past Saturday, Oct. 26. Notably, Samy Kanaan notched a brace for the Toreros in the win as USD also recorded their fifth clean sheet of the season in the win.
- As a team, San Diego's offense has been dynamic all year as the Toreros rank in the top ten in the nation in scoring offense (T-8th, 2.31) and points per game (9th, 6.92). Additionally, USD also ranks fifteenth nationally in assists per game (2.31) as well as tying for 23rd in both assists (30) and total goals (30).
- Kanaan has proved to be dangerous with the ball all season as his eight goals is currently good for first in the conference. Alongside Kanaan, Cesar Bahena has been an asset offensively as he has tallied seven goals for the Toreros so far, which ties him for second in the WCC. Notably, Bahena also ranks first overall in the WCC in shots (44) and shots on goal (20).
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS:
- Falling to San Diego in their last time out on Saturday, Oct. 26, Oregon State is now in second place with record of 4-1 heading into the new week.
- Two Beavers lead the conference in assists - Fabian Straudi in first place with nine over 12 games played and Ellis Spikner in second place with five assists in ten appearances.
- Arnau Farnos has been a consistent offensive threat this year for Oregon State as he is tied with Kanaan of San Diego for the conference lead with eight goals this fall. Notably, four of these strikes have been game-winning goals, which is also tied with Kanaan for first in the WCC.
SERIES HISTORY
- Since 2005, San Diego holds the lead in the head-to-head series with a record of 14-10-1. Last season, San Francisco fell to the Toreros, 1-0 on Sept. 29, in San Diego.
- Sunday's matchup between San Francisco and Oregon State will mark the first meeting in program history for both schools.
