SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After guiding the University of San Francisco baseball team last weekend, AJ Guiliana has been named WCC Freshman of the Week, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
 
Guiliana thrived throughout the three-game home series against Nevada last weekend, leading the team with a .556 batting average. Guiliana totaled five hits in nine at-bats against the Wolf Pack, including four extra-base knocks. In the 7-2 victory over the Wolf Pack on Sunday, Feb. 25, the freshman from San Diego, Calif., recorded two hits in four at-bats with two doubles and one RBI.
 
Guiliana leads the Dons at the plate through the first seven games of the season, ranking first in batting average (.333) and extra-base hits (four) and second in on-base percentage (.450).
 
Overall, this marks the first weekly WCC award for San Francisco this season.
 
San Francisco returns to action at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, when it hosts Seattle U for a single game at Benedetti Diamond.
