BREMERTON, Wash. - Returning to the conference stage, the University of San Francisco men's golf team wrapped up the 2024 season by finishing seventh overall as a team at the 2024 West Coast Conference Championship at Gold Mountain Golf Club this past weekend.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Jakob Melin began the weekend for the green and gold by shooting a 70 (-2) across his first round, which was tied for the eleventh-best opening round score across the field.
- Improving in round two, San Francisco shot a 286 as a team on Saturday, with Harry Brown, Jackson Rothwell and Renato Naula all shooting 71's (-1).
- Closing out the championship, the Dons shot 289 as a unit on Sunday to finish at 10-over-874. Notably, Melin finished in a tie for 19th as the sophomore shot even-par-216 (70, 73, 73) to lead USF. San Francisco had three players end the tournament in a tie for 27th with Partridge (77, 73, 70), Rothwell (77, 71, 72), and Brown (75, 71, 74) all shooting 4-over-220 for the tournament. Notably, Partridge climbed 10 spots in the leaderboard in the final round of the championship as the senior shot two-under in his final round of collegiate golf. Closing out the lineup, Naula finished at 8-over-224 (78, 71, 75) to tie for 34th overall.
- Throughout the tournament, USf led the field in eagles with a total four as Melin was the only student-athlete in the championship to record multiple eagles.
