SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – In the final regular season game on the Hilltop, the University of San Francisco baseball team (20-32) dropped a 4-1 decision to UC Davis (25-25) Tuesday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- UC Davis jumped ahead with a run in the opening frame to take a 1-0 lead. The Aggies, aggressive at the plate to begin the game, recorded three straight hits, highlighted by a Damian Stone RBI double to secure the early advantage.
- Avoiding further damage, starting pitcher Matt McConnell worked around a jam and recorded three straight outs to keep San Francisco in the game.
- The Aggies added to their lead in the fourth and seventh innings, scoring three runs to take a 4-0 advantage.
- Logan Schweizer put the Dons on the board in the bottom of the seventh, cutting the deficit to 4-1. With two outs and a runner aboard, Schweizer punched a single over the outstretched glove of the second baseman into right field to score Patrick Keighran.
- UC Davis kept the lead through the final two innings, holding San Francisco to just one baserunner to secure the victory.
