Men's Basketball Releases Full 2024-25 Schedule

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco men's basketball program and head coach Chris Gerlufsen announced the team's full schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season on Wednesday afternoon.

Fresh off their second postseason appearance in the last three seasons, Gerlufsen and the Dons are hungry to build off the momentum the program has built as USF has recorded 20+ wins each year since 2016-17 (excluding the COVID-19 shortened season in 2020-21). In addition to their NIT appearance, San Francisco also reached the semifinal round of the West Coast Conference tournament for the third straight season in 2023-24.

This season, San Francisco's nonconference schedule is highlighted by eight home games, including a rematch with Boise State on Nov. 9. Additionally, the green and gold will host Long Beach State on Nov. 13, who won the Big West Tournament and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2023-24.

Notably, the Dons will return to Chase Center for the fifth time in six seasons as USF will battle Memphis at the home of the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 21.

Away from the Bay Area, San Francisco will compete in the Sunshine Slam on Nov. 25 + 26 in Daytona Beach, Fla. Set to square off against Clemson, who reached the Elite Eight last season, in their first-round matchup, the Dons will then play Fordham or Penn State depending on the results of the first-round games. USF and Clemson will face off on Nov. 25 at 3:30 pm PT/6:30 pm ET at Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. Broadcast details for the tournament will be announced at a later date.

In addition to the neutral site games at the Ocean Center, the Sunshine Slam features four on-campus games. Each team from the Beach Bracket will host an Ocean Bracket team prior to the event. For San Francisco, Chicago State will visit the Hilltop on Nov. 16.

Squaring off at another neutral site, the Dons will take on Loyola Chicago at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Dec. 15.

Beginning a few days before the new year, USF will begin their 18-game conference schedule with a pair of home games as the Dons will welcome LMU on Dec. 28 and Santa Clara on Dec. 30. New to the league this year, San Francisco will battle both Oregon State (Jan. 18 + Feb. 27) and Washington State (Jan. 4 + Feb. 1) twice this season.

For the green and gold, San Francisco seven student-athletes from last year's team, including All-WCC selections Marcus Williams (First Team), Ryan Beasley (Freshman of the Year, All-Freshman Team), Malik Thomas (Honorable Mention) and Ndewedo Newbury (Honorable Mention). New to the roster this offseason, transfers Carlton Linguard Jr. (UTSA), Jason Rivera-Torres (Vanderbilt), Drew Ardouin (Cuesta College) and Isa Silva (Stanford/Long Beach State) aim to make an immediate impact alongside freshmen Veniamin Abosi (Herkalion, Greece), Karl Markus Poom (Tartu, Estonia), James O'Donnell (Sydney, Australia) and Tyrone Riley Jr. (Downey, Calif.).

Tip-off times and broadcast details for the 2024-25 season will be announced at a later date.
