PORTLAND, Ore. – The University of San Francisco volleyball team (3-14, 1-6) dropped a three-set West Coast Conference decision at Portland (9-8, 4-2) Thursday evening at Chiles Center.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Despite a solid performance from the attacking side, registering a .520 hitting percentage, San Francisco dropped the opening set 25-23 as Portland gained the early advantage in the match.
- Falling behind early in the opening frame, the Dons battled back to take a 19-18 lead. The Pilots regained the edge late and recorded the final two points to secure the set victory.
- In the second set, the green and gold trailed by as many as eight points as Portland coasted to the win, 25-21. Kills from Astrid Puig and Emilija Arsic guided the team early, as the Dons jumped out to a 6-4 lead. The Pilots, however, answered with a 9-2 scoring run to gain the lead for good.
- Portland recorded five of the first seven points of the final frame and eased to a 25-20 third-set victory.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Puig posted a team-high eight kills while Arsic, Shannon Knight, Crystal Galaviz, and Andrea Fabikovicová combined for 21.
- Along with her success offensively, Knight added a season-high three service aces.
- A team-high 25 assists from Fabikovicová guided the San Francisco attackers throughout the match.

San Francisco concludes its road trip when it takes on Oregon State at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, at Gill Coliseum.
