CORVALLIS, Ore. – The University of San Francisco volleyball team (3-15, 1-7) concluded its four-match road trip on Sunday, falling at Oregon State (12-5, 6-1) 3-0 at Gill Coliseum.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco fell behind early in the match, dropping the opening frame, 25-18. Leading by as many as seven points during the first set, Oregon State used a 7-0 scoring run midway through to take control at 18-12. The Dons trimmed the deficit to five, 23-18, late in the set, following a kill from Shannon Knight, but the Beavers secured the frame with back-to-back points.
- The green and gold gained an early advantage at the beginning of the second set, jumping out to an 11-8 lead. Kills from Astrid Puig, Maeve Bailey, and Emilija Arsic, while two Abby Wadas service aces helped guide the Dons.
- With the frame tied at 20, the Beavers scored five of the final six points to secure the second set and take a 2-0 advantage in the match.
- Failing to prolong the match, San Francisco dropped the deciding third set 25-15. Despite the set loss, the Dons swung at an impressive rate, registering a .409 hitting percentage and totaling 12 kills.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Bailey, the lone player for the green and gold with double-digit kills, totaled 11 throughout the three-set contest. She also recorded a team-best .500 hitting percentage, the seventh time this season she has swung .500 or better in a match.
- Wadas and Knight combined for four service aces, recording two apiece. Wadas also added eight digs to lead the program.
- San Francisco attackers were aided by a match-high 31 assists from Andrea Fabikovicová.

San Francisco returns to Hilltop for the first time in nearly a month when it hosts Gonzaga at noon on Saturday, Oct. 25, at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
