SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference (WCC) announced on Monday afternoon that David Raphael, a sophomore forward for the University of San Francisco, has been named WCC Offensive Player of the Week.
Raphael continues to showcase his talent as one of the top offensive players in the conference, tallying two goals, four points, and six shots (four shots on goal) across two matches for the Dons this week.
Notably, Raphael picked up his first career brace in USF's 2-1 win over LMU on Sunday, Oct. 26. First, the forward scored on a free kick in the 23rd minute to give USF an early 1-0 lead. After LMU leveled the match, Raphael converted on a penalty kick in the 88th minute, which would prove to be the game-winner over the Lions. In the victory over LMU, Raphael tied his season and career highs in shots (5) while also finishing with a new season-high in shots on goal (3). He is now a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kick opportunities this season.
Within the conference, Raphael is first in penalty kick goals (3), tied for third in game-winning goals (3), tied for fifth in goals (6), sixth in shots (31), and sixth in shots on goal (15).
For San Francisco, this award marks the first Player of the Week honors this season.
