FRESNO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco men's golf team was back in the swing of things to begin its spring season as the Dons finished eighth overall at the Nick Watney Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club in Fresno.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Playing 36 holes across the first day of action, Renato Naula picked up where he left off in the fall as the senior finished the opening day of play third overall at 7-under.
- Close behind, Oscar Bredkjaer also ranked inside the top 15 individually as the freshman was tied for 15th at 3-under after the first day in Fresno.
- Staying steady, Naula and Bredkjaer would both shoot 1-under during their final round on Tuesday as Naula finished in a tie for 4th at 8-under-205 (68, 67, 70) while Bredkjaer tied for eleventh at 4-under-209 (68, 71, 70).
- Martín León also logged a top 40 finish for San Francisco to begin the spring as the graduate student tied for 38th at 5-over-218 (69, 77, 72).
- Rounding out the rest of the lineup, Taehoon Park finished in a tie for 46h at 8-over-221 (74, 70, 77) while Svante Palmgren tied for 68th overall at 16-over-229 (74, 78, 77).
UP NEXT:
San Francisco will compete next at the Pauma Valley Invitational on Mar. 17 + 18. Hosted by LMU, the tournament will take place at Pauma Valley Country Club in Pauma Valley, Calif. Live results will be available via the team's schedule page.
