SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the second time this season, San Francisco's
Patrick Keighran has been named Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Leading San Francisco to three wins last week, including a series victory over Portland at home, Keighran posted a .538 batting average, with seven hits in 13 at-bats, one home run, five RBI, and scored four runs.
Beginning the week with a three-for-five performance in a 10-3 win over UC Davis, Keighran batted .500 with four hits in eight at-bats, a home run, and three RBI in the three-game series against Portland. In the Dons' 6-0 shutout win over the Pilots on Saturday, May 10, he connected on his team-leading 11th home run of the season. He followed with two hits and an RBI in the series-clinching victory on Sunday, his 14th multi-hit game.
In 41 games played, Keighran paces the Dons offensively, batting .348, eighth best in the WCC, with 49 hits, 13 doubles, 11 home runs, 47 RBI, and is a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen base attempts. Establishing himself as one of the best hitters in the WCC, Keighran ranks second in the league in slugging percentage (.674) and on-base percentage (.475), tied for fifth in RBI, tied for sixth in doubles, and seventh in home runs,
For San Francisco, this weekly award marks the fourth for the program this season and Keighran's second Player of the Week honor.
