SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference officially announced its Preseason Poll and Preseason Team for the upcoming 2025 men's soccer season on Thursday morning.

For San Francisco, sophomore David Raphael was named to the All-WCC Men's Soccer Preseason Team.

"David had a great freshman season, but he is primed to have an even more impactful sophomore season," said head coach Chris Brown. "He is great on both sides of the ball and can play multiple positions. His main goal is to help this team win a WCC Championship."

Making his mark since his arrival on the Hilltop, Raphael enjoyed an impressive freshman season in 2024. Overall, the forward started in 14 of USF's 17 matches last fall and finished with four goals, one assist, nine points, 14 shots and 14 shots on goal. Within the WCC, his 14 shots on goal tied for ninth among all qualified student-athletes. Notably, Raphael netted his first collegiate strike in San Francisco's 4-0 win over San José State on Sept. 23. In October, the freshman scored the first goal of the match in USF's 2-0 upset over No. 2 Stanford on Oct. 17. He also led the team in shot on goal percentage at .583. For these efforts, Raphael was named to the WCC All-Conference Second Team and the WCC All-Freshman Team at the conclusion of the regular season.
