SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco men's golf program and head coach
Jalen Griffin are pleased to announce the addition of Michael Farley as assistant coach ahead of the 2025-26 season.
"Coach Farley will be a big impact towards our team's success and look forward to working together this season," said Griffin. "He brings an immense amount of knowledge to the program with his golf background and believe he'll bring the best out of our players."
Farley's began his journey in collegiate golf as a four-year standout at Clayton State from 1995-2000, where he earned All-Conference honors in 1999 in route to qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championships that year.
After his time at Clayton State, Farley spent 15 years teaching golf in the UK, Germany, South Africa and Switzerland, including being a PGA coach. Notably, he caddied and managed a few players on the DP World Tour in the early 2000's. He has also competed in a variety of pro and amateur tournaments throughout the years, including making the final qualifying round for the British Open in 2008.
"It's really been great for me to join Coach Griffin and the team this year," said Farley. "I believe this team and program can make an impact in Division 1 golf this season. Coach Griffin runs a highly organized program and to be part of it and try and help add value where I can is an opportunity I am very excited about. We have a roster jammed full of amazing players and excited to get going with the year."
Most recently, Farley spent the past two years as an assistant coach at Riordan High School in San Francisco. He has lived in the Bay Area for nine years and is also a realtor. Farley still actively plays and works part-time for Dryvebox at Lincoln Park Golf Club.
