SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco (USF) men's soccer team (3-1) picked up its second consecutive win on Monday night as the Dons knocked off CSU Bakersfield (0-4), 1-0, at Negoesco Stadium.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco broke the 0-0 tie when David Raphael notched his second goal of the season at 9:00, converting off a penalty kick for the second time in three matches. In the first half, the Dons would go on to outshoot the Roadrunners 7-1.
- CSU Bakersfield sustained a more balanced attacked in the second half, but the Dons still doubled up their visitors in the shot column, 10-5.
- USF would hold on a few final attempts in the closing minutes from the Roadrunners as San Francisco picked up its third victory and second shutout this season.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Eleven different Dons recorded at least one shot on Monday, including all six players who came off the bench for San Francisco. Raphael led the team with four shots while Oscar Harris, Adrian Medina, and Jaggar Judkins all tallied at least two shots.
- Raphael is now 2-2 on penalty kicks this season, having previously scored in the 19th minute at No. 11 Indiana on Sunday, Aug. 24.
- Overall, San Francisco outshot CSU Bakersfield 17-6, including a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
