PULLMAN, Wash. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team (11-7, 4-3) used an all-around team effort to earn an 85-72 victory over Washington State (4-17, 3-5) Saturday evening at Beasley Coliseum.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco kicked off the contest with six straight points, highlighted by a Candy Edokpaigbe second-chance three-pointer. The Dons continued to build their advantage, pushing the margin to eight, 10-2, on a Sol Castro mid-range jumper with 5:57 remaining in the first quarter.
- Washington State responded shortly after, going on an 11-2 scoring run to take a 13-12 advantage—its first lead of the game.
- Aina Cargol ended the quarter with a three-pointer, giving the Dons a 22-19 lead.
- San Francisco maintained its lead at the start of the second quarter. The team achieved its first double-digit advantage, 31-21, at the 6:46 mark after Nataša Taušová completed a three-point play with a free throw.
- The Cougars mounted a late push, trimming the Dons' lead to five with 40 seconds left at 40-35. Still, three straight points to close the half sent the green and gold to the break with a 43-35 lead.
- After intermission, San Francisco continued to hold its advantage, carrying a 59-54 lead into the fourth quarter. The Dons excelled in the paint, netting eight of their 16 points close to the basket.
- The early stages of the final quarter saw both teams trading baskets. Washington State narrowed San Francisco's edge to two, 67-65, with 6:17 to go. In the next few minutes, more baskets were exchanged until Taušová connected on a long three-pointer at the 3:52 mark to put the Dons up 77-71.
- San Francisco held Washington State without a field goal in the final four minutes of the game, and outscored the Cougars 11-1 to secure the 85-72 victory.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Four players scored in double figures for San Francisco, led by Cargol, who recorded a career-best 21 points on 41.2 percent (seven-for-17) from the field, including going four-for-eight from beyond the three-point line.
- Noelia Mouriño registered her first-career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Mouriño's rebounding total marked the second time in the last three games she has totaled double-digit boards.
- Paula Tirado guided the second unit with a career-best 15 points in 27 minutes off the bench. Tirado shot an efficient 75 percent (six-of-eight) from the field and connected on two three-pointers.
- Taušová added 13 points, one shy of matching her career-high, with nine coming in the second half.
- San Francisco dominated the glass, outrebounding Washington State, 48-27. The Dons also collected 22 offensive rebounds, the most recorded by the team this season.Â
