DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco returns to the Hilltop on Thursday evening seeking a much-needed win, having dropped back-to-back contests last week. Last time on the floor, USF fell to Saint Mary's (SMC), 79-54, in Moraga on Saturday, Feb. 7.
- In the loss against SMC, David Fuchs tallied his sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and a team-high 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Mookie Cook had his best game of conference play with 10 points, five rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench against the Gaels.
- Looking to defend home court, San Francisco has not lost back-to-back home games in over three years (Jan. 5, 2023 vs. Gonzaga / Jan. 14, 2023 vs. Saint Mary's), aiming to keep that streak alive against Oregon State on Thursday. USF has not lost more than three games on its home floor since the 2022-23 season, when the Dons finished 11-5 at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
- With just five games to play before the West Coast Conference (WCC) Championship in March, San Francisco currently sits at fifth in the conference standings, one game behind Pacific for a top-four seed and a triple-bye in Las Vegas. The Dons have three games against teams ahead of them in the standings remaining on their schedule: Feb. 18 vs. Gonzaga, Feb. 21 vs. Santa Clara, and Feb. 28 at Pacific.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS:
- Oregon State comes to the Hilltop tied with San Francisco for fifth in the WCC standings at 6-7. Last time out, the Beavers had a three-game win streak snapped in an 81-61 loss to No. 6/5 Gonzaga on Saturday afternoon in Corvallis.
- Within conference play, two Beavers are averaging double-figure scoring in junior guard Josiah Lake II (12.8, 20th in WCC) and junior forward Isaiah Sy (10.2), with Oregon State averaging 67.2 points per game as a team in WCC action, the third-lowest scoring average in the league.
- Despite the offensive struggles in conference games, Oregon State has been one of the WCC's best teams at the free throw line, ranking second in the conference in free throw percentage at 76.1 percent. Individually, Sy leads the conference in free throw percentage, shooting 93.0 percent from the stripe in WCC contests, having made 40 of his 43 attempts from the line.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Thursday night will mark the final regular season WCC game between San Francisco and Oregon State, as the Beavers will transition back to the newly re-aligned Pac-12 Conference at the conclusion of this season. This matchup will be the 14th meeting all-time, with the Dons holding a 9-4 advantage over the Beavers in the series. USF looks to split the season series on Thursday night, as OSU took the first matchup of the season on Dec. 30, 2025, with a 70-62 victory over San Francisco in Corvallis.
